CE Testing, CE Marking & Conformity and Declaration documentation of the Keep IT Secure Range.

Keep IT Secure take a great deal of care with our electrical systems and take advice from Pilz International on all things relating to safety and electronics. Our previous Version 2 range and our brand new Version 3 ranges have been cleverly thought through, and independently checked and tested again by Pilz International, accordingly all our current and previous versions have been CE Certified and clearly CE Marked.

Full CE compliance, to all standards at the time of manufacture, has always been undertaken, Keep IT Secure products ship with clear CE Marking and a CE Declaration of Conformity Certificate. If you require a copy of your Certificate Of Conformity please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Services team on 0845 123 6262 Ext 26 who will be happy to forward this to you via email. Before calling please ensure you have your date of purchase and unit serial number to hand.

Keep IT Secure has built it's reputation on producing a well built and highly secure product range at an affordable price and safety has always been a major part of the design. Our latest Version 3 Chassis has taken safety to the next level, with individual power socket monitoring, new rear admin area housing all the units electrical systems, relays to protect against residual voltage and an automatic power shut off system when the rear doors are open. Keep IT Secure follow guidelines regarding electrical testing, our procedures are very strict, in particular in our testing, the earthing of our machine is tested at multiple earthing points, making sure we obtain the right readings at these points. We have critical values that we must meet to ensure the product is at a high level, and to the standard we expect.

On our high end multiple circuit units, we feature an intelligent voltage sensing system, that works if one mains is accidentally disconnected or unplugged during operation, the system goes into safemode, another enhanced safety feature from Keep IT Secure.

Residual Mains Socket Voltage

The HSE has highlighted a concern that some laptop cabinets may have a momentary residual voltage on the pins of the mains lead if this is unplugged without switching the socket off, if you then touched the pins within a second or two it could result in an electric shock.

Keep IT Secure is confident that our product designs have always addressed this issue, but in line with latest industry thinking we have also gone a stage further and incorporated a brand new advanced internal electronics system to protect against this with the use of internal relay systems, to make this scenario virtually impossible or at the very most an insignificant theoretical risk.

We now ship all units with a WARNING sticker advising users to switch off from the mains prior to unplugging the main power lead. This sticker has been introduced recently, so if you would like to add this sticker to your current model please call customer services who will be happy to send them to you in the post.

Everything relating to power sockets, fusing and network equipment is now housed behind a secure locked administration area, which removes the potential for any unauthorised user to have ANY access to any of the cabinets electrical systems. Our new systems also include an automated power shut off system which is triggered the moment the rear safety doors are opened, and we have included an audible warning unit to alert if the rear doors are unlocked and open.

Clearly we always do everything we can to keep all users safe, our units are under constant review and are upgraded with anything that offers additional levels of safety and security. It is GOOD PRACTICE to train all authorised users on the trolley and its functions, always ensure that before removing and detaching the mains power lead the socket is switched off. Please also copy and distribute our new Laptop Trolley Safety Advice Sheet to all users.

If for any reason you have any concerns about our’s or any other make of cabinet, TAKE IT OUT OF SERVICE and call your supplier or the manufacturer who, like us, I am sure would be happy to provide assistance.
